  • canned coconut milk 1 can (14 oz) coconut milk
  • chili pepper 1 chili pepper
  • fish sauce 1 tablespoon fish sauce
  • garlic 1 to 2 cloves garlic, peeled and minced
  • oil 1 tablespoon oil
  • onion 1 small onion, peeled and sliced
  • salt and pepper salt and pepper to taste
  • shrimps 1 pound large shrimps, tendrils trimmed

How to make it

  1. In a pot, heat oil over medium heat.
  2. Add onions and garlic and cook, stirring regularly, until fragrant.
  3. Add fish sauce and continue to cook, stirring regularly, for about 1 minute.
  4. Add coconut milk and bring to a boil. Lower heat and allow to simmer for about 10 to 15 minutes or until coconut milk is reduced to half and starts to oil.
  5. Add chili.
  6. Add shrimps and continue to cook, stirring occasionally, until shrimps change color and are cooked through. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Serve hot.
