  • bread garlic bread and salad, to serve
  • crème fraîche 200ml tub half-fat crème fraîche
  • garlic cloves 3 garlic cloves, crushed
  • italian herbs 1 tbsp dried mixed Italian herbs
  • lean beef 400g lean minced beef
  • parmesan 25g parmesan, grated
  • passata 690ml jar passata with onions and garlic
  • penne 350g penne
  • sugar 1 tbsp caster sugar

How to make it

  1. Heat grill to high. In a large, non-stickfrying pan, fry the mince until browned.
  2. Add the garlic, sugar and herbs, and cookfor 1 min more.
  3. Pour over the passata,add seasoning, then simmer while youcook pasta, following the pack instructions.Meanwhile, mix the crème fraîche and
  4. Parmesan. Spoon half the mince into anovenproof dish.
  5. Mix the rest with the pastaand pour this on top.
